Stockholm! What to do and see with kids

Since I have quite a few non-Finnish friends who want to follow my blog also, I will occasionally post in Finnish and English, hope it's not too disturbing :). 

Varattiin juuri matkat Tukholmaan ja tuli mieleeni listata paikkoja jonne kesällä lasten kanssa kandee suunnistaa. Multa näitä vinkkejä usein kysellään kun yksi tehokas vuosi tuli Tukholman katuja perheen kanssa tallattua. Nähtiin ja tehtiin todella paljon sen vuoden aikana, aina oltiin menossa :).  Vuoden kohokohtiin kuului kun vuoden asumisen jälkeen kuljin jo niin itsevarmasti kaupungilla, että usea ruotsalainen pysäytti minut kysyäkseen neuvoa mistä löytyy se tai tämä paikka. Ja ruotsinkielellä osasin vielä neuvoa. Pieniä iloja :).

Kurkkaa siis alta meidän lempparit, katsotaan keretäänkö kaikkea kuudessa päivässä kun kavereitakin halutaan nähdä :). Olen ehdottomasti sitä mieltä että Tukholma on yksi parhaista matkakohteista lasten kanssa (tai ilman!) miksi oikeastaan lähteä merta edemmäs? Tukholmassa on NIIN paljon nähtävää ja kannattaa lähteä kokeilemaan noita vanhankaupungin ulkopuolella olevia juttuja niin saa aivan eri kuvan koko kaupungista. Toivotaan että lämpöiset kelit jatkuu ja päästään pulahtamaan uimaankin meidän vanhalle vakkarirannalle. Rålambshovsparkenin vierestä löytyy ihana pieni hiekkaranta ja toinen löytyy Långholmenin saarelta jonne helpoin yhteys on Söderin kautta (Hornstullin metroasemalta). 

Vaikka naapurimaahan meneekin ja luulee ehkä tietävänsä kaupungista paljonkin, kannattaa silti lukea matkaoppaastakin vinkkejä, niillä mekin Tukholmaan tutustuminen aloitettiin. Ja jos tulee jotain lisäkysymyksiä, niin täällähän minä vastailen.

P.s. me varatiin asunto taas airbnb:n kautta kuten Barcelonan reissunkin kanssa tehtiin. Tukholmassa on paljon asuntoja joita asukkaat vuokraavat yhdeksi yöksi tai vaikka viikoksi ja varsinkin perheenä on helpompi mennä asuntoon kuin hotelliin., varsinkin kun se tulee ihan saman hintaiseksi tai jopa edullisemmaksi. Meidän kolmio on Söderissä ihan tutuilla kulmilla, kivaa :).

We've made reservations for our holiday in Stockholm Sweden. We used to live there so we know the city pretty well. People often ask me tips what to do and see in Stockholm with kids and I though I would share my best tips here with you. We'll be staying in Södermalm, we rented a flat through airbnb which we did in Barcelona last time as well. So we have a two bedroom fully equipped flat for the price of a hotelroom (or less!), quite nice with kids.

So here are few of our favourites. To be honest there are so many nice places it's difficult to list them...

1. Gröna Lund - you'll stay the whole day at this amusement park! 

2. Skansen - outdoor "museum" and zoo with nordic animals such as bears, muuse, wolfs, foxes, owls etc. It might sound boring but it's far from it. Also my son's favourite, the car ride is there

3. If you have boys: Tram museum (Ratikkamuseo) that is Spårvägsmuseet. My son loved and still loves it - we have to pay a visit there I'm sure. He never forgets :)

4. Junibacken, especially if it's a rainy day. Wonderful place full stories and fantacy. Highly recommend this place and the fantacy train is just amazing.

5. Vasaparken and neighbourhood there + Unibarn for Childrens clothing. Vasaparken has one of the best playgrounds in Stockholm. There are many cafees all around the park.

6.. Rosedahls Trädgården for coffee and cake - Walk or take the tram to this oasis in Djurgården. Food and cakes are just delicious - you can either sit at the outdoor (on indoor) tables or go to the garden for a picnic. One of my absolute favourite places in Stokholm!

7. Shopping in NK - tip: Filippa K has the best summer discounts in NK! I've made several good buys from this particular store, good selection of -50% off shoes and some clothes.

8. Strolling around in Södermalm, starting from Slussen

9. Boat trip to Waxholm, a little sea trip that takes about 2 hours and you get to see lovely archipelago from the ship. Coming back, either by boat or bus. bus takes 45 mins to city center.

10. If you have the possibility to see something withour children, go to Fotografiska in Södermalm, see great photo exhibitions and enjoy a lovely lunch at the top floor with great view to the city.

And just for us - our old neighbourhood in Kungsholmen. Piren park, the big ICA supermarket (gonna stock some lovely coffee from there!). Hanging with friends!!! Rålambshovsparken, walking in Norr Mälarstrand by the water, lovely... Feeling sentimental, for sure.

Don't know how we're gonna do all this although we do have almost 6 full days. Can't wait!
